Most Fitness 19 gyms are clean and well-maintained. These gyms also provide wipes for disinfecting free weights and hand out sanitizers to its members. This is important as it would ensure that the members won’t be passing around virus to each other.

Too Busy

Rating: 9/ 10

Most Fitness 19 gyms are spacious enough to accommodate a lot of its members. However, as in most gyms, Fitness 19 locations are packed during peak hours like weeknights. The months of January and February are also notoriously packed since this is the time when people are motivated to go to the gym. Thus you might want to work out during early in the morning or during weekends.

Other Amenities

Rating:  8 / 10

Although membership fees at Fitness 19 gyms are affordable, it does not mean that these fitness centers are lacking in amenities. Perhaps the most important amenity is the childcare facility that is present in almost all Fitness 19 branches. The concept of Fitness 19 is to provide affordable fitness services to adults especially parents, and the presence of childcare facilities allows parents to work out while still being able to watch over their children.

However, Fitness 19 gyms don’t have pools or tennis courts that are found in more expensive fitness centers.

Customer Service or Personal Fitness

Rating: 8 / 10

All Fitness 19 gyms are manned by personal trainers who can provide one-on-one instructions to members. These professionals can design programs for gym members, introduce new workouts, and assist seniors in their training. With the help of personal trainers, members can have a better chance of achieving their weight loss goals, building muscles, improving cardiovascular health and increasing` their flexibility.

Most gyms also have customer service staff that can assist members on their queries.

Locker Room

Rating: 6 / 10

There are no lockers provided to members of most Fitness 19 gyms. The absence of locker rooms is one of the characteristics of Fitness 19, one of the first fitness centers to remove shower rooms and locker rooms to reduce overhead costs and thus lower their membership fees.

Shower Room

Rating: 6 / 10

Again, there are no shower rooms in most Fitness 19 gyms. In case you sign up as a member, you’ll have to be content with private dressing rooms which are smaller compared to dedicated locker rooms found in bigger fitness centers.

Overall Experience

Rating: 8 / 10

If you are after a no-frills, affordable gym then you should consider hooking up with Fitness 19. All Fitness 19 locations have the gym equipment that you would need to lose weight, build muscles and improve your health. Another thing going for Fitness 19 is the numerous locations it has, with multiple branches in several states. So there should be no problem in looking for a Fitness 19 gym near you.

However if you are the picky type of gym-goer, Fitness 19 may be a bad fit for you. The lack of locker rooms and shower areas will definitely be a turn off. The same goes for lack of amenities like swimming pools.

  1. I have contacted the Eldridge, Maryland 4 times (twice in person) for a refund as I was charged a monthly fee for membership. My gym closed and all the members were transferred without prior notification to Fitness 19. I joined another gym closer to my home. I visited Fitness 19 to make sure I was not charged as I was not going to be joining. Drew, the manager said not a problem. I have been charged the monthly fee. I called twice. Drew promised me a credit with a few days. That was a few weeks ago. I am going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau if I don’t see a credit within a week. Drew said the corporate office controls the payments. What’s the deal, people?
