Fitness experts recommend morning workouts because of the energy boost, among other reasons. But getting up in the morning can be problematic for many people like night owls so morning workouts may not be on their agenda. Fortunately, there are many ways to get to your morning workouts at Lifetime Fitness every time.

Psych Yourself Up

Many people tell themselves that they aren’t morning persons and, thus, they aren’t suited for morning workouts – and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you are one of them, then you should start psyching yourself up! You have to think that you’re a morning person and, after several days of your morning talks, you will be one.

This may sound simplistic but the mind has a way of training itself. You are basically conditioning yourself so you acquire a new habit. You must, of course, adopt the right habits so that you become a morning person, such as going to sleep early.

Preparation Is Key

Think of your morning workout as you would your work day. You should prepare you mind and body, as well as the things that you will be using and bringing to the gym, the night before. You should have your workout outfit picked and ready for wearing in the morning or you can wear most of the items to sleep.

You should even prepare your breakfast so it’s one less thing to worry about before getting to the gym. The more prepared you are, the more buzzed you will be for your morning activity.  

Get Your Buddies to Exercise, Too

You will find morning workouts more enjoyable when you have exercise buddies. You should then encourage your buddies – or your partner or spouse, for that matter – to show up at the gym first thing in the morning. You will have people who can be your alarm clocks, enablers and motivators rolled into one.

And don’t forget to return the favor, too. You should encourage them when they are feeling lazy about your morning workouts, or plateauing in your program, or even just feeling down.

Plus, with your buddies working out and posting their enviable results on social media, you will likely feel left out. You will then be more likely to show up for your morning workouts so that you, too, will belong.

In the morning, you should stop overanalyzing what you will do, how you will do it, and why you will do it. Just do it, as the popular brand slogan says.
